American Red Cross Seeks Support of Disaster Relief Fund

Hurricanes Charley, Frances and Ivan have devastated Florida and the southeast, leaving homes destroyed and lives lost. The American Red Cross has provided shelter for more than 300,500 people in Florida, and used their Disaster Relief Fund to provide meals and snacks for more than 5, 750,000 people.

American Red Cross in the Finger Lakes seeks additional support for the Disaster Relief Fund. According to the Red Cross, $200 will provide shelter and food for 28 disaster victims for one day; $100 equals one week's food for a couple and their infant; $75 can cover a doctor's visit for an individual injured in a disaster; $50 helps provided one night at a local mote for a family of four; $25 will provide five blankets at an emergency shelter.
