The Geneva Theatre Guild is seeking original one act plays for the seventh annual Playwrights Playreadings program. This is an opportunity for new playwrights to have their plays presented in a staged-dramatic reading by local actors.
All submitted plays will be read and rated, using established criteria, by initial submission reading committees. The plays that rate highest will then be read out loud and discussed by another group, who will select the plays to be performed at the Playreadings. Members of the committees do not know the identities of the playwrights until after final decisions are made.
Script guidelines can be obtained on the GTG Web site at www.gtglive.org. For more information, phone 315-789-1209.
Scripts should be sent to the Geneva Theatre Guild, Playwrights Playreadings, Box 424, Geneva, NY 14456. Submissions must be postmarked no later than Saturday, Dec. 4. The Guild usually receives between 40 and 50 scripts each year.
Playwrights Playreadings VII will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 8 and 9, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 10, at the Geneva Free Library.
