In an effort to clear out crowded offices and storage areas, The Smith Opera House is holding a rummage sale on Wednesday, Oct. 27. Taking place in the 100-year-old theater's lobby from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., all proceeds from this event will go toward upgrading the Smith's lobby and vestibule with new rope stanchions, trash cans and all-weather, non-skid mats. The Smith is located at 82 Seneca Street.
For weeks, Smith staff have been busily rummaging through the basements and sorting through the dressing rooms, locating and identifying scores of disused or rarely used items. Along with hundreds of movie posters from films exhibited at The Smith, items for sale include carpeting and Smith carpet remnants, an organ, office equipment and furniture, a coffee maker, computers, school desks, and a variety of contributed goods from throughout the community.
For more information about this fund raising event or to contribute tax-deductible items, call The Smith at 315-781-LIVE or toll-free 866-355-LIVE.
The Smith Opera House is supported, in part, with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, the City of Geneva, the Town of Geneva and by contributions from individual supporters.
