This year visitors will enjoy an old-fashioned Christmas celebration at the Geneva Historical Society's annual Holiday Open House. From 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 12, the Geneva Historical Society Museum will be open for visitors, members and friends. The house will be all decked out for the holidays, treats will be on the tables, and at 2:30 p.m. the rhythm section of the Geneva High School Band will perform holiday favorites under the direction of Steve Palumbo.
This is a wonderful time to view Holiday Celebrations, the newest exhibit, which showcases the many holiday traditions of Geneva families and features holiday-related photographs and objects from the Society collection. See old friends and enjoy the house and period rooms. There will also be fun holiday crafts for parents and children to enjoy together (geared to 5 to 12 years), so bring the whole family.
Admission to the Holiday Open House is free of charge, as are all activities and refreshments. For more information about the program, please call 315-789-5151.
The Geneva Historical Society Museum is located in the Prouty-Chew House at 543 South Main Street and is open Tuesday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Admission is free.
