The Civil Air Patrol is the volunteer, civilian auxiliary of the United States Air Force. It provides young people between 12 and 20 the opportunity to develop leadership skills through an interest in aviation. The cadet program is a 16-step program that includes aerospace education, leadership training, physical fitness, and moral leadership.
The United States Air Force recognizes the high standards the cadets must meet. Cadets who have completed over half of the program are automatically promoted two levels.
There are more than 2,600 Civil Air Patrol members in New York. For more information about CAP membership contact Stan Skrabut at (315) 781-8208.
