Orientation for this training will be held from 6 – 9 p.m. on Monday, March 21, at the office in Canandaigua. The workshop sessions will be held on Monday and Thursday evenings from March 24 to April 18. Attendance at all workshop sessions is required.

In order to become a tutor, one must be at least 18 years of age, have an interest in helping adult students to learn, be a high school graduate (or GED), be able to attend the entire training program and complete homework assignments, be willing to devote at least 2 hours per week to working with an adult student, and be willing to keep basic records to be submitted to LVOC as requested. It is not necessary to have a teaching background or to have knowledge of a foreign language to become a tutor. There is a $30 fee to offset the cost of materials used in the training.
