Award-winning theater company Seneca Community Players announce auditions for “Blood Relations,” a period drama by Canadian playwright Sharon Pollock. Auditions will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, and Wednesday, March 2, at Seneca Community Players Headquarters, 91 Cowing Street, Canalside, Seneca Falls.
“Blood Relations” is a psychological period drama examining the 1892 double murder of Andrew and Abby Borden and the subsequent homicide charges brought against Mr. Borden’s adult unmarried daughter, Lizzie. Lizzie was later acquitted of the charges, but her infamy continues to this day with schoolyard ditties like, “Lizzie Borden took an axe, gave her mother 40 whacks . . .”
Parts are available for four women and three men, with the youngest character in her early 40s. Those wishing to audition should be prepared to read from a script provided at the time of audition.
The show will be presented at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 22, and Saturday, April 23; at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 24; and at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 29, and Saturday, April 30, at the Delavan Theater on the campus of the New York Chiropractic College, 2360 State Route 89, Seneca Falls, New York.
