Zhou Published on Communist and Imperial China

Jinghao Zhou, assistant professor of Asian languages and cultures, had two articles “Communist China” and “Imperial China” published in Encyclopedia of Religious Freedom (New York: Routledge, 2003). In the articles, Zhou has discussed five religions in imperial China and communist China, religious policies, religious freedom in China, and the characteristics of religious practice in communist China. Encyclopedia of Religious Freedom is a highly recommended religious reference book in which contributors examine the interrelationship of religion and state, toleration, and the historical development of religious freedom.

Jinghao Zhou joined the faculty in 2001 and is the author of the book “Remaking China's Public Philosophy for the Twenty-first Century” (Praeger, 2003), which is used for ASN236 “Society and Culture in Contemporary China.”
