GENEVA — The Geneva Historical Society will sponsor an Erie Canal day trip on Aug. 9.
Participants will take a bus to Baldwinsville, where they'll board Mid-Lakes Navigation's Emita II for a two-hour luncheon cruise starting at 11 a.m., and including passage through a lock, commentary about the canal from the captain, and views of canalside scenery. The Emita II has enclosed as well as open deck space.
Lunch will be soup, sandwich, fruit salad, chips, cookie, and beverage. After the cruise, the group will travel to the Erie Canal/Weigh Lock Museum in Syracuse for a guided tour and time to browse.
Tickets are $69 for Historical Society members and $75 for others and are available by calling the museum at 789-5151.
