Potter, painter have work at gallery

Works by potter Howard Skinner and painter James B. Williams Jr. will be displayed during August at The Gallery at the Point, 8515 Greig St., Sodus Point.

Skinner, a teacher at North Rose-Wolcott High School for 21 years, is currently working in large thrown stoneware pottery. Over the natural ash glazes he has developed, he applies computer-generated decals for an unusual and fascinating appearance.

Williams, of Webster, a graduate of RIT, works primarily in watercolors and acrylics. The Gallery is displaying his vibrant, striking florals and paintings of local points of interest in and around Rochester.

The Gallery is open from noon to 7 p.m. Monday and Wednesday through Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday; closed Tuesday. For details, call (585) 615-7475.
