Troops coming home Wednesday

The Geneva-based Army National Guard unit is now
scheduled to return Wednesday, Sept. 14 from Iraq, after a 12-month deployment. Arrival in town is expected between 3:30 and 4 p.m.

The convoy will travel from Thruway Exit 42, down Route 14 to Exchange Street, turn right onto Seneca Street, then to Main Street and the Armory.

Organizers hope to line the route with people welcoming them back. Small United States flags are available at Lyons National Bank or the Finger Lakes Times office on Genesee Street to wave for the troops. Listen to the local radio stations for more information.

For details, call the Armory at 789-7515 or 789-0134 or the office of attorney Bill McGowan at 789-9191.
