Geneva Historical Society will host a walking tour of Glenwood Cemetery, starting at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, rain or shine.
Participants will learn more about his beautiful example of a Victorian garden cemetery, planned and designed in 1872 on 50 acres of land by H.W.S. Cleveland (1814-1900), a long-time friend of landscape architect Frederick Law Olmstead. This tour will cover sections and monuments in the cemetery not included in the previous tour.
Reservations are requested by calling the Geneva Historical Society office at (315) 789-5151; participants should dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk over uneven ground. Parking is available in the Houghton House lot.
