SODUS POINT — The Gallery at the Point features the works of Janet Buchanan Smith of Ontario, Toby M. Gateley from Wolcott and Josh Caraballo during October.
Smith creates watercolors from original photographs taken while hiking through her surrounding wetlands or during her many travels. Proceeds from the sale of her paintings are directed to the Genesee Land Trust to support its work in conserving and restoring natural habitat.
Gateley has developed a line of rustic woodcrafts from locally grown silver poplar, cut up only after the tree dies naturally. He makes unusual wood pieces including clocks, bookends, stools, lamps and lampshades.
Caraballo, a junior at North Rose-Wolcott High School, works in pen and pencil, colored pencils, pastels and paint. His favorite subjects are action figures and fantasy.
Gallery at the Point is at 8515D Greig St., across from Papa Joe's restaurant, and is open this season between noon and 5 p.m. Friday through Monday or by appointment. For details, call (585) 615-7475.
