A film of indescribable and often unmentionable charm, “Me and You and Everyone We Know,” will be shown starting Nov. 4 at the Smith Opera House in downtown Geneva.
Director/writer/star Miranda July plays an aspiring performance artist, Christine in her debut film. Her mix of innocence, wonder and weariness takes a subject matter that might often seem taboo or depraved and transforms it into matter-of-fact commentary on human nature.
The film won the Special Jury Prize for Original Vision at the Sundance Film Festival and Camera d’Or, Best Film by a New Director at the annes Film Festival.
The film may be seen at 7 p.m. Nov. 4, 5, 7 and 8 and at 2 p.m. Nov. 6. Rated R, it has a running time of 97 minutes. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens.
