Seneca Community Players recently received three Merit Awards from the Theatre Association of New York State for its late-October production of “Wit.”
Susan Stewart Sinicropi received an Outstanding Acting Award for her portrayal of Vivian Bearing. Outstanding Merit Awards are issued to theatrical productions of a superlative quality rarely witnessed or experienced by the adjudicator.
Jim Porto and Kathy Hadley received Excellence in Acting awards for their portrayals of Jason Posner and E.M. Ashford, respectively. These awards go to the theatrical production considered by the adjudicator to be of exceptional merit surpassing the norm.
TANYS's Merit Awards recognize outstanding work by community and educational theatre companies, actors and technicians across New York state.
Presentations of these awards will be Nov. 19, during the TANYS Festival Awards Banquet at Highland Country Club in Auburn.
Directed by Walter Wolf, “Wit” was staged Oct. 27-30 in the Delavan Theatre at the New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls.
