Geneva Theatre Guild production honored at state festival

The Geneva Theatre Guild’s popular production of “Forever Plaid” received three awards at the recent Theatre Association of New York State Theatre Festival in Auburn.

Festival Adjudicator Annette Procunier of Toronto honored cast members Charles King, Todd Horton, R.J. Rapoza and Randy Hample for their ensemble work as the Plaids.

Festival audience members also named the musical as their favorite production and Hample as a favorite actor.

The popular 1950s musical previously received five TANYS merit awards, including two honors for Director Pam Rapoza, prior to the invitation to the state festival. This was the Guild’s fifth appearance at the annual event, which spotlights productions by community and academic theatre companies from across New York State.
