Planting Seeds Of Change: Living a Vibrant Life, the third annual conference presented by Seeking Common Ground and Rochester Lifeways Magazine, will be Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29 in Rochester.
The keynote address, by Frances Moore Lappé, internationally acclaimed author, will begin at 7 p.m. that Friday at Monroe High School, 164 Alexander St.
Lappé will speak on “Living Democracy, Feeding Hope:
Lessons on Bringing Democracy to Life.” She is the author of “Diet for a Small Planet,” and her latest, “Democrary's Edge.” Admission is free with conference registration; general admission is $12 for adults, $7 for students and senior citizens.
The conference itself will be from 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 29 at The School Without Walls, 480 Broadway St.: a full day of workshops, demonstrations, vendors and networking.
Conference tracks will include Nourishing the Land, Nourishing Ourselves, Enlivening Our Schools, Creating a Healthy Home, Tending Body and Spirit, and Building Community.
The $75 fee includes Friday's keynote address and Saturday's full conference, including a delicious organic lunch with vegetarian and vegan options available.
Early Bird, senior and student discounts are available and registrations will be accepted starting March 1.
