‘Ghost cop’ explores historic theater

Stacey Jones, former police officer turned ghost hunter, and founder of the Central New York Ghost Hunters, will present her findings on The Smith and share additional stories of hauntings, starting at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8.

Tickets are $15 general admission, and doors will open at 7 p.m.; after the presentation, she will lead a small group on a private ghost hunt in the 1894 opera house.

The second hunt is limited to 20 patrons, and a few places remain at $50 each, including the 7:30 presentation.

Jones's work will be featured on the Discovery Channel special, “One Step Beyond,” later this year.

She was an Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy before moving to Central New York, earning an associate's degree in police science from State University College of Technology at Morrisville, and spending 12 years as a police officer in Central and Northern New York.

Tickets are available at the Smith box office, by calling (315) 781-LIVE (5483) or toll-free (866) 355-LIVE (5483) or by visiting www.thesmith.org.
