Polar plunge set as benefit

Finger Lakes Visiting Nurse Service will hold its anual Polar Plunge at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 1 at Seneca Lake State Park.

Campus and community involvment is being sought; participants would get pledges from friends, co-workers, and family members to support their plunge into Seneca Lake — this plunge only has to be knee deep.

Participants should dress in their craziest attire and prizes will be given away for the best costume, the most money raised and best team name — note that only one person from the team needs to jump in the water.

A chili cook-off will be part of the festivities, with cooks and tasters welcome, as well as several raffles with prizes.

Anyone 12 and older can participate individually or in teams up to four people. Minimum pledge of $10 gets you into the “plunge,” and those raising $100 or more will receive T-shirts.
