Celebrating Excellence Dinner 2017

WS_Excellence_Dinner_3A tradition rooted in outstanding achievement, William Smith students will receive honors during the annual Celebrating Excellence Dinner on Thursday, Feb. 9, at 6 p.m. in the Vandervort Room of Scandling Campus Center. The William Smith administration will award more than 100 students for their remarkable achievements and induct the newest members of the Laurel Society at the dinner.

“William Smith students are wonderful, phenomenal women,” says William Smith Assistant Dean Valerie Gunter. “William Smith students excel in the classroom, in sports, in HWS clubs and organizations, and in service to the HWS and Geneva communities. It is our pleasure to recognize and congratulate their achievements each year.”

The evening’s festivities will include remarks from the William Smith deans, a performance from the a capella group 3 Miles Lost and readings from Tiara Sivells ’20, Mary Kublinski ’17, Pamela Icyeza ’19, Emma Herbst ’18 and Samantha Shaffner ’17.

The diverse members of the Laurel Society, the honor society for William Smith sophomores and juniors, are committed to community service and academic excellence. Through their positive actions as role models and mentors, and their active participation and representation in all areas of the Hobart and William Smith community, the Laurels are dedicated to both the Colleges and Geneva.
