HWS Abroad Destinations

Student in Ireland

Your undergraduate journey begins in Geneva, but your HWS experience can take you across the globe.

60% of Hobart and William Smith students participate in off-campus study before they graduate. Whether it is interning with an organization in Vietnam, studying Spanish and living with a host family in Spain, or conducting fieldwork on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, such experiences complement and enhance the on-campus academic program.

Given our global focus, the HWS curriculum has been designed to encourage off-campus study. The Colleges maintain a robust menu of programs, offering a wide array of options in different academic disciplines around the world. Admission to these programs is competitive. Students should consult the CGE website for further details on each program, including eligibility requirements, course offerings, accommodations, excursions, and costs, as well as for information on the application process and funding opportunities.
