April 20, 2021
Dear HWS Graduates of 2020,
It is time to celebrate you and your accomplishments! Registration is now open for your Commencement weekend activities. Events will take place on Friday, June 4 and Saturday, June 5. The Commencement Ceremony will happen on the Quad on Sunday, June 6 at 10 a.m., rain or shine. In the event of a storm that would preclude us from holding Commencement on the Quad, the ceremony will still be livestreamed with all graduate names announced. To learn more about the weekend, please go to the Commencement Week Schedule on the Commencement 2020 website.
Each graduate may invite two guests to be on campus for Commencement and those guests, along with the members of the Classes of 2020, will be required to take precautions to help HWS maintain a healthy community. Before arrival on campus, each individual will need to upload one of the following (we will send instructions on uploading documents closer to Commencement):
- a negative COVID-19 PCR test completed, at most, 72 hours prior to arrival
- or a record of full vaccination (final vaccination dose must have been received at least 14 days prior to arrival to campus)
- or a record of a positive COVID-19 test from within 90 days, with the individual out of isolation and no longer experiencing symptoms.
If you or your guests are not vaccinated, have not had a positive COVID-19 diagnosis within 90 days or were unable to receive a COVID-19 test prior to arrival, HWS will offer rapid COVID-19 testing at check-in at the Barn from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, June 4 and 5. We will offer limited testing on Sunday, June 6, from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Results of rapid testing are available within 15 minutes of sample collection. After arrival and upon review of your documentation or negative COVID-19 tests, you and your guests will receive a bracelet and lanyard with name tag, clearing you to be on campus to participate in Commencement activities. Everyone must visibly display/wear your bracelet and name tag for the duration of your visit.
Directions regarding check-in and uploading COVID-related documentation will be communicated closer to Commencement to each registered guest. We ask that you only register your guests, not those of another graduate. If you will not have a guest for the weekend, please leave the section blank.
Housing and meals are only offered to graduates.
A livestream link to the ceremony will be available on the Commencement 2020 website for any family members or friends to view the ceremony from around the world.
If you have any questions about Commencement, the weekend’s activities or the registration please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to celebrating with you in June!
