Ethan Lewis ’23
Hi! My name is Ethan Lewis I am a first year at the Colleges. I plan on majoring in biochemistry with a potential double major in physics. I am from Sharon, Mass. I play club volleyball, and I am member of the Campus Activities Board, the Pride Club and most of the STEM clubs on campus.
My typical Monday on-campus (pre-coronavirus of course!) this semester looks somewhat like this:
8:30 a.m. – Wake up and take a shower
9 a.m. – Meet my friend Katerina on Rees 1 to go to breakfast at Saga where I usually eat a bagel.
9:45 a.m. – My first class of the day is “Introduction to Biology” with Professor Fischman. I enjoy the sciences, so I don’t mind this class.
11 a.m. – My second class of the day, “Organic Chemistry,” is also my favorite this semester. Professor Miller does an awesome job with the material and he’s always willing to help. I’m very fortunate that by coming here I got to advance in my coursework so quickly. At other institutions I would have taken this no earlier than sophomore fall.
12:15 p.m. – My last class of the day is “Introduction to Italian.” I really enjoy this class because Professor Lucci provides an awesome learning environment where you’re able to make mistakes and learn from them.
1:15 p.m. – I usually head to Saga to grab lunch with my friends, James, Maeve, Katerina and Mackenzie.
1:45 p.m. – At this point, all my classes are done and I usually head to Professor Miller’s office hours to ask questions and work on problems. Depending on the day, I can be there for 30 minutes or 2 hours. He’s always extremely helpful and supportive.
3:30 p.m. – I head back to my room. I am not a morning person so if I have the time, I like to take a nap, but if not I’ll do work.
6 p.m. – I head to dinner with friends. I’m usually a fan of what they have in MyKitchen, but The Grill is also a solid backup.
6:30 p.m. –This is when I either head to a club meeting or back to my room to do more work.
10 p.m. – For the most part, I’m usually done with my homework by now. If not, it’s usually because I procrastinated or have a really big assignment due. At this point, I like to hang out with my friends until I go to bed. Often we go on late night walks around campus.
12 a.m. – I’m a night owl at heart, so my bedtime is either around midnight or later.
