The HWS Archives & Special Collections has launched an initiative to document the COVID-19 pandemic through the personal experiences of the Colleges’ community.
While the Archives is actively recording the official side of how the Coronavirus has affected HWS by collecting emails and online content, they are also capturing the personal experiences of students, faculty, staff and alums.
“By combining the official with the personal, we hope to build a dynamic archival collection about the COVID-19 pandemic, how it affected the Colleges and each of us in the HWS community and how we all responded,” says Archivist and Special Collections Librarian Tricia McEldowney.
For more information about the initiative and to submit materials, visit the Documenting COVID-19 at HWS webpage. Submissions can include text, audio, video and photographs. Prompts and tips are available on the site.
“Future generations will want to know about our experiences during this pandemic,” says McEldowney. “By contributing your story, you can help answer their questions.”
