The annual Festival of Nations returns with activities celebrating the diverse cultures of the Geneva community. Offering area students and families a chance to engage with school clubs, community organizations and resources all while enjoying a variety of foods, traditions and music from around the world, the 12th annual celebration will be held on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. at North Street Elementary School in Geneva.
Alongside new features, including a Cornell-Dragon Boat Dance, this year’s Festival includes dances, music, demonstrations, a diverse range of food, visual arts, games and more. This year, the Geneva High School Interact Club will host the annual basket raffles.
New participant Afghani Dance joins longtime community contributors to the Festival, including the Two Heron Drum Circle, Sons of Italy, Geneva Rotary Club, Boys and Girls Club of Geneva and Finger Lakes Community College ESL program, among many others.
Coordinated by the Geneva City School District, Hobart and William Smith Colleges and Finger Lakes Community College, the Festival is a collaboration among schools and local artists and musicians, business owners, community resources and non-profit agencies, with volunteer support from Geneva 2020, HWS Rotaract Club and the Geneva Interact Club.
The Festival of Nations is free and open to the public.
