Finger Lakes Radio: Vincent Named New HWS President

Finger Lakes News Radio released the piece, “Vincent Named New HWS President” on April 20. The segment, by Joe Nittler, includes an introduction to Dr. Gregory J. Vincent ’83 and his journey from his undergraduate at HWS to civil law then higher education administration.

Dr. Gregory Vincent was introduced Thursday as the next President of Hobart and William Smith Colleges.

A native of New York City he earned as BA at Hobart 1983 and then went on to obtain a law degree at Ohio State and his Doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania.

He has worked at the University of Oregon and LSU. He is currently the vice president for diversity and community engagement at the University of Texas at Austin. He is a member of the HWS Board of Trustees.

Vincent will succeed Mark Gearan who has been President since 1999.
