Hobart and William Smith Colleges will offer free admission to all regular season contests during the 2019-20 academic year. Previously, HWS charged admission for Hobart football, Hobart hockey, William Smith hockey and Hobart lacrosse.
The Colleges are scheduled to host more than 150 athletic contests this year. The football team kicks off the 2019 season on Saturday, Sept. 7, when the Statesmen host Brockport at noon on Boswell Field at David J Urick Stadium. It will be the first of six regular season home games for Hobart football.
The hockey seasons get underway the weekend of Nov. 1, and lacrosse season starts Feb. 8.
Members of the Statesmen Athletic Association will continue to receive preferred parking at Boswell Field during Hobart football and Hobart lacrosse games. Admission to the Statesmen Tent for pregame meals remains a benefit of membership in “The Team Behind Hobart’s Teams.”
Fans unable to attend contests in person can watch nearly 100 Hobart or William Smith sporting events for free online at hwsathletics.com/watch. Additionally, WEOS-FM (89.5/90.3) and WHWS-FM (105.7) will team up to broadcast Statesmen and Heron home games in basketball, field hockey, football, ice hockey, lacrosse and soccer.
Due to NCAA regulations, fans will still be required to purchase a ticket to tournament games.
