Founder of his own acclaimed New York-based dance company, choreographer, master teacher and dancer Daniel Gwirtzman will visit the HWS Dance Department to offer a master class on Saturday, Oct. 27.
Titled “Power, Rhythm, Speed! Modern Technique in Action,” participants will study and practice alongside the highly-praised choreographer from 12 – 2 p.m. in the Deming Theatre in the Gearan Center for the Performing Arts.
Described by the New Yorker as a “choreographer of high spirits and skill,” Gwirtzman is recognized for his unique style of contemporary dance. His master class is meant to be an energetic and a fun way of engaging a dancer’s stamina, speed and coordination.
The master class is open to all levels of dancers and is available at no charge. The visit is sponsored by The Ballet School of St. Peter’s Community Arts Academy and the Hobart and William Smith Colleges Dance Department.
