Hobart College first-year midfielder Justin Scott was named the Northeast Conference Men’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Week by the conference office today.
Scott scored a team-high four goals in his Hobart debut in a 21-15 loss to No. 15 Penn State at Pinnacle Athletic Campus in Victor, N.Y., on Saturday. He also collected a pair of ground balls
It’s the most goals by a Statesman in a season opener since Alex Love ’15 and Cam Stone ’14 both scored four times in an 18-15 win over Siena in 2013. The last time a Hobart player scored more than four goals in the opener was 2003. John Bogosian ’03 netted six goals in a 13-3 win over Butler.
No Hobart first-year has scored that many goals in the season opener since Nathan Roost ’98 netted four goals in the Statesmen’s first Division I game, a 15-10 win over Army in 1995.
Hobart (0-1) will host Siena College (0-1) at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18 at Pinnacle Athletic Campus. The game will be broadcast live on WEOS-FM. Fans can also follow the contest online with All-Access Video and Live Stats.
Tickets are $10 and available exclusively online.
