The Associated Press recently interviewed Kevin DeWall ’00 and Emmett Forde ’21 for a story titled, “Heartbreak of lost football season felt across Division III” that has been featured in media outlets across the country.
DeWall, who is entering his third year as head coach at Hobart, spoke about helping every member of the team navigate the uncharted territory of the pandemic’s effects on sports. A 2019 AP All-American linebacker, Forde shared his thoughts on the cancelation of his senior season, game day at Boswell Field and his perspective on what it all means.
“There are people in much worse situations than us,” Forde said. “Obviously, football is just a sport. People are dying from this virus and it’s a national and global pandemic. We really can’t be selfish and think about ourselves. We have to think about society as a whole.”
