The Hobart College lacrosse team will host the University of Michigan in a preseason scrimmage Saturday, Jan. 25 at noon. The teams will face off on Stiles Field at the Thomas B. Poole ’61 and Family Sports Dome.
Construction of the $3.5 million state-of-the-art dome was completed last year. Due to state fire code, occupancy of the dome is limited to 299 people, including student-athletes, coaches, officials and game management staff. Admission for the scrimmage against the Wolverines will be limited to people on the teams’ pass lists.
Under the leadership of Head Coach Greg Raymond, the Statesmen are looking to build on last year’s 11-5 campaign. Hobart finished second in the Northeast Conference regular season standings and was the runner-up in the NEC Tournament. The Statesmen return 36 letter winners, including eight starters, from that squad.
Hobart will open its 118th varsity season at home against Canisius. The opening faceoff against the Golden Griffins is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8.
