HWS Lands 35 Liberty League All-Academics

Thirty-five student-athletes from Hobart and William Smith Colleges were named to the Liberty League Spring All-Academic Teams by the conference office. The Heron lacrosse team led the way with 11 honorees.

To earn Liberty League All-Academic recognition, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.3 through the end of the 2018 fall semester.

Coupled with the fall and winter sports that compete in the Liberty League, Hobart and William Smith earned 101 All-Academic awards in 2018-19.

The William Smith lacrosse team finished the season with a 17-3 overall record and a 10-0 mark in conference play. The Herons’ 17 wins this year are second most in a season in program history. [Click here for more]

The William Smith rowing team placed ten Herons on the all-academic team. The Herons varsity eight is ranked ninth in the country. [Click here for more]

The Hobart rowing team placed six on the all-academic team. The Liberty League Champions won gold medals in the varsity eight, second varsity eight and third varsity eight at the NIRC. [Click here for more]

The William Smith tennis team had four athletes honored. The Herons finished the season with a 14-7 overall record, and third in the Liberty League with a record of 6-2. [Click here for more]

The Hobart tennis team had two athletes honored. The Statesmen finished the season with a 13-7 overall record, and third in the Liberty League with a 6-2 record. [Click here for more]

Both the Heron and Statesmen golf teams had one athlete honored.  William Smith finished its season with a sixth place showing at the Liberty League Championship and Hobart finished its season with a seventh place finish at the Liberty League Championship
