The Hobart and William Smith alum network reaches far and wide — from Wall Street to Hollywood, from the shores of Seneca Lake to around the globe. Connecting the members of that network has taken many forms, from binders of hard copy registration forms to database computer searches available only through the Salisbury Center for Career, Professional and Experiential Education.
Now, with the launch of the online HWS Career Network, members of the HWS community have a way to connect with each other at any time, from anywhere.
The web-based platform, powered by PeopleGrove, allows registered users to share insight and wisdom gained from their educational and professional experiences, interact with classmates and alums, offer career advice to current students, participate in career and academic discussions and post jobs and internships.
Users can also join affinity interest and career groups once their profiles are activated, providing another layer of connection and allowing for group discussions about industry-specific topics and trends.
“Alums have always been generous in helping students, and their support of this new resource is no different,” says Salisbury Center Director Brandi Ferrara. “Within minutes of launching the site, we saw registrations come through, and I am excited to see that alums and students are already connecting and having meaningful conversations.”
The HWS Career Network is open to alumni and alumnae, current students, parents, faculty, staff and friends of the Colleges. Ferrara hopes to enroll 6,000 members by June. To join, click the button below.
