HWS Wins National CASE Circle of Excellence Silver

In the 2019 Circle of Excellence award season, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) has recognized Hobart and William Smith Colleges for the promotional short video “HWS So Far This Year,” created by Paul Ciaccia ’15, senior editor of multimedia, photography and videography in the HWS Office of Communications.

The video earned the Silver Award in the short fundraising video category. The judges “found this video completely delightful,” they wrote. “Music is great and editing is super. Fun, energetic, creative view of campus life. Great use of resources and ability to reuse video for different purposes. A bonus that it was made by a recent alum.”

Ciaccia, who double majored in English and Media & Society, joined the communications office fulltime after graduation, initially as the Social Media Coordinator.

The CASE Circle of Excellence Awards is an annual national recognition of hundreds of colleges and universities and the staff members who work to advance their institutions “through innovative, inspiring and creative ideas. The awards acknowledge superior accomplishments that have lasting impact, demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and deliver exceptional results.”

HWS recently earned several awards through CASE’s District II Accolades program.
