Hobart and William Smith Colleges will offer a wide range of intensive courses this summer for current and non-matriculated students. Registration for Maymester and Summer Session courses begins on Monday, March 30 and concludes on Friday, May 1.
These full academic credit programs provide an opportunity for students to further their educational experience with an HWS faculty member; to get ahead or back on track with graduation plans; and to address curricular requirements at HWS or at other institutions of higher education.
During Maymester, which runs from May 20 through June 9, students can take one of 26 courses that cover a wide range of disciplines and topics, including a number of introductory courses as well as upper-level courses on everything from research methods and data analysis to the video essay and religious extremism. Courses run Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with afternoons open for course preparation, projects and assignments.
During Summer Session, which runs from June 15 through July 17, students can take one or two courses with an HWS faculty member for two hours, five days a week, over the five-week program. Classes are scheduled in the mornings and afternoons, with late afternoons and evenings for class preparation, projects, and assignments.
The tuition for summer programs is $3,000 per class for both matriculated and non-matriculated students.
HWS matriculated students can register through their HWS PeopleSoft account. Non-matriculated students should fill out a non-matriculated student application form and send it to Associate Dean for Curricular Initiatives and Development David J. Galloway at firstname.lastname@example.org.
