17 July 2023 • Alums Healy '23 Accepted to George Washington University Law School
With a full scholarship, Katherine Healy ’23 launches a legal career at George Washington Law School.
Graduating summa cum laude in history and psychological science, Katherine Healy ’23 has been accepted to George Washington University Law School, receiving a scholarship to cover tuition. She intends to pursue a career as an entertainment lawyer.
At HWS, Healy was inducted in Phi Beta Kappa national honor society this spring, served as vice president of Psi Chi psychology honor society, was a member of the Tri-Alpha honors society for first-generation college students and served as a Civic Leader and coordinator for the HWS Tutor Corps Program in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Geneva. She also worked in the Office of Alumni and Alumnae Relations.
Healy says she was attracted to George Washington as one of the country’s top law schools as well as its strong Entertainment Law program. The location in the nation’s capital was also key. “Living in the most politically active city in the country was a major draw,” she says.
Classes such as “Constitutional Law” with Professor of Politics Paul Passavant, along with a myriad of history courses, have prepared her well for law school by instilling the fundamentals of reading legal opinions, writing outlines and forming arguments in defense of a legal opinion, she says.
At HWS, she was the recipient of the F & J Harrington Annual Scholarship and The Bagley and Cadwalader Endowed Scholarship.
