17 October 2017 • Alums Doyle '19 Secures Summer Internship with Bank of America
Caitlyn Doyle '19 has already secured a 2018 summer internship with Bank of America as a global transaction services summer analyst. Throughout the application process, Doyle took advantage of opportunities on and off campus to advance her knowledge of the industry and also relied on the Colleges' engaged alum network.
In particular, Doyle says Julie Bazan '93, Chief Operating Officer at Cobblestone Capital Advisors, played in an integral part in her professional development and helped her gain experience in the finance industry early on at HWS.
"I'm most looking forward to not only growing my knowledge of global transaction services and contributing to the team I am placed on, but having the chance to meet and work with the alums who were helpful to me throughout the process," says the anthropology major. "From start to finish, the alums I networked with at Bank of America were more supportive and encouraging than I could ever ask for."
As a global transaction services analyst, Doyle will assist with a wide range of companies and financial institutions through services and products unique to Bank of America.
Doyle was able to gain firsthand insight into the work of the global transactions services team through a Women and Diversity accelerated Super Day event in the Financial District of New York City. Bank of America invited Doyle to participate, giving her the opportunity to take part in a full day of interviews with members of the global transaction services team.
"I felt as though I really connected with every person I had a chance to speak with, which solidified that Bank of America is the right place for me," Doyle recalls.
Advancing her knowledge of the industry on campus, Doyle participated in the five-day Fulbridge Finance Intensive program offered at HWS last May. The intensive business education program, which was underwritten by three HWS alums, allowed 15 students to spend five days furthering their competencies in financial analysis, valuation, project management and professional communication. Doyle and her classmates received a Certificate of Professional Achievement at the end of the program.
"It really sparked my interest in the industry," says Doyle of the program.
On campus, Doyle is a member of the William Smith cross country team, the William Smith Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and has worked in the Financial Aid Office, Office of Admissions and the Center for Teaching and Learning.
The Salisbury Center for Career, Professional and Experiential Education oversees the Guaranteed Internship Program, Fulbridge Finance Intensive Program, and coordinates the HWS Alum Network.
