Social and political philosopher Lucius Outlaw provided a philosopher's perspective on the intersection of the election and race as the second speaker on Wednesday, Oct. 1. Outlaw's research interests include African philosophy, African American philosophy, Marx, critical social theory, and the history of philosophy in the "West".
Outlaw brings years of teaching philosophic topics related to politics as a former T. Wistar Brown Professor of Philosophy at Haverford College; visiting professor at Spelman College, Howard University and Hamilton College; and David S. Nelson Professor at Boston College. His acclaimed scholarly writings have been published in leading publications, such as Philosophical Forum, Journal of Social Philosophy, Man and World, Graduate Faculty Philosophy Journal, The Journal of Ethics, and a number of anthologies.
