Campus Life and Housing

Will the campus shuttle be available during the 2021-2022 academic year?

Yes, the shuttle will resume operations this academic year. Per CDC guidance for public transportation, face coverings are required regardless of vaccination status.


Will Campus Safety be able to provide safe rides to students?

Campus Safety is available to provide safe rides to students who need them. Campus Safety can be reached at: 315-781-3333.


Will students have to wear facemasks in their rooms?

Residence hall rooms are considered a “family unit” and therefore students do not need to wear masks.


Will students be allowed to enter residence halls that are not their own?

Yes. The Colleges will continue to monitor health guidelines and may adjust this policy as needed.


How will dining work on campus?

All dining locations will be open and grab-and-go options will be available.


Can you explain Grab-and-Go options? What kind of food will be offered? Will there be hot meals?

Grab and Go will be a combination of re-heatable items and cold items. The menu selections will be based on the Saga menu cycle.


Can you describe the cleaning and safety procedures used by the dining hall staff?

All dining staff are outfitted with proper PPE (gloves, masks and other devices as needed per position) to ensure their safety as well as the safety of guests. All tables and chairs are cleaned and disinfected frequently. We have reduced as many high-touch point items as possible through service style changes. Those high-tough points that remain are cleaned and disinfected on a regular interval by staff.


Will Bristol Field House be open?

Yes, Bristol Field House will be open. Face coverings will be required for participants who are unvaccinated, for the vaccinated when directed, and for all individuals when Ontario County’s transmission status is at substantial or above.


Who is permitted to use Bristol Field House?

The HWS campus community will be permitted to use the facility. External members will be permitted with the membership structure communicated via email or posted here.


Will group fitness classes be offered?

Yes, we will resume our group fitness class offerings.


Will there be intramurals offered this year?

Yes, we will resume our intramural activities.


Will the Poole Family Sports Dome be available for recreation?

Yes, the Dome will be available for open recreation from 9 am – 3 pm Monday through Friday.


Will Bristol Pool be available for open lap swim?

Yes, the pool will be open for lap swim. Refer to the Recreation facilities webpage for more information.


Will club sports be permitted?

Yes, club sports will be permitted. For more information on clubs sport click on student activities.
