March 27, 2022

Good afternoon,

Welcome back to campus! We trust that everyone had a rejuvenating spring break and are ready for the remainder of the semester. There’s a great deal to look forward to – multiple lectures, traditional events like Charter Day and Moving Up Day, engaging classes, games and competitions, and of course Commencement. Staying healthy to fully experience the rest of spring semester should be everyone’s priority.

Currently, we have no students who have tested positive for COVID-19 and none in isolation or quarantine. Ontario County and all surrounding counties are assessed by the CDC as being at the Low level. We are, however, carefully watching the situation at neighboring colleges and universities, especially at Cornell which is currently experiencing a transmission rate that is above predicted levels. In our assessment, we must continue to be diligent in protecting ourselves and one another, including wearing masks when prudent or when asked to do so in class or by colleagues or friends.

The COVID-19 Resource and Testing Center will hold special hours tomorrow, Monday, March 28 (9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.) for those requesting a return-to-campus rapid anti-gen test. We also have a number of take-home tests available for distribution. The Center will resume its regular hours on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.) for PCR and rapid anti-gen tests.

As always, students experiencing symptoms should visit the Hubbs Health Center for an appointment.

The Dashboard will be updated starting tomorrow as usual, Monday through Friday, for the remainder of the semester.

We wish you a good first day of classes and, as always, if you have any questions, please let us know.

Sincerely,

Sarah Kirk
Provost and Dean of Faculty
