Orientation 2021 is being planned as an in-person, four day event for incoming first-year and transfer students. COVID-19 related restrictions continue to evolve, and as new information becomes available, it will be added to the appropriate Orientation webpages.
Orientation 2021 will take place for all new students from Thursday, Aug. 19 through Sunday, Aug. 22. Parents and families will join us on Thursday to help move in their students to campus. Parents and families will depart campus around 6 p.m. on this day. Below you will find an overview for Thursday, Aug. 19.

Check in with our friendly student staffers. Shake hands with President Joyce P. Jacobsen on the Coxe Hall steps, the same steps you’ll walk across when you graduate. Pick up your Orientation materials and residence hall room key under the big tent on the Quad.
Assigned Residence Halls
Meet your roommate and check out your new home. Look for Orientation staff to help you move in and IT Services staff to help you connect to the HWS network.
