This Week In Photos: Dublins Daydream
- Woof! My name is Dublin Gearan, Goldendoodle extraordinaire and loyal companion to HWS President Mark D. Gearan and his family. For this weeks gallery, follow me all over campus in this special canine compilation, Dublins Daydream. Here I am, getting a little shut-eye in the Presidents Office in Coxe Hall.
- Here we gosomeone call a dentist, this canine is loose!
- After realizing that Im not supposed to chase the mouse on dads desk, its time to answer emails and check my social media accounts. As the official campus greeter, I am always making new friends! Connect with me on Facebook!
- Here I am on the Quad with The Nancy Curvin Playground Players, a company of high school actors preparing for their upcoming summer production of The Soldier and the Tinderbox. I gave some pointers to my friend Connor, left, who will be playing a dog in the play. Check out the performance on July 13 at the Lakefront Gazebo.
- Now lets head to the radio booth for a few questions from our listeners. Ive been trying for years to get WEOS 89.5FM and 90.3FM to air my show, Kibbles and Bytes, my take on all things squirrels, treats and tennis balls.
- I've always wanted to be an Admissions tour guide! Visit the HWS campus this summer and ask for Dublin so I can show you the best places to hide sticks and take naps.
- Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell and I catch up on my way to the new Gearan Center for the Performing Arts. As the first woman in the United States to receive the Doctor of Medicine degree, shes a bigger campus celebrity than I am!
- Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, I arrive at the Gearan Center for the Performing Arts to check out the donor wall. Thanks to everyone who made this building a reality!
- Please hold your a-paws while I give Presidential Fellow Nick Stewart 15 a few acting tips before he leaves to pursue his M.F.A. in theatre at the University of South Carolina. Note to self: acting chops are not something I can eat.
- Campus Safety Officer Sarah Sosnowski and I write a ticket during our rounds on campus. After all, it was blocking my hydrant!
- What's up, dog? Cali, Rilo and I meet up on the Quad to relax after a busy morning.
- I stop to visit the Vietnam memorial recently dedicated during Reunion 2016. Located near the flagpole on South Main Street, the bench honors four alumni and one faculty member who died in service.
- Yes, I can paw for this. Thank you to Gail Hoesterey and Pamela Araya at Print Services for helping my bones arrive safely!
- St. Johns Chapel is a great place to reflect on the people who make my life so wonderful my family (especially Madeleine and Kathleen), Chaplain Charles, all the students at HWS, the faculty, the staff, my friends in Geneva. The list goes on and on.
- Time to fetch some rays on the docks of Bozzuto Boathouse. Who's up for a quick dog paddle?
- I love walks on the Hill with William Smith. We don't go very far but he's always there and is a great listener.
- Assistant Director of Operations for Buildings and Grounds Mark Ocwieja says they're done digging holes for the construction of the Colleges two new solar farms. This does not stop me.
- HWS Grounds Manager David Iannicello leads me on a tree tour of campus. Did you know the Colleges have more than 1,800 trees? I've literally been barking up the wrong one for years.
- Sarah Garcia '17 shows me all of the sustainably grown food I can eat on the HWS Fribolin Farm.
- Back to the Quad to get myself in the Fourth of July spirit. This weekend is always my favorite because I get to be outside with my family and people usually drop hot dogs.
- Wait, whats that? Did someone say treat? What a ruff dream! I think it might be time for another nap.
