- As the recipient of a prestigious 2017-18 Fulbright U.S. Student Award, Jordan Loretz ’17 will travel to Taiwan this fall to begin his tenure as an English Teaching Assistant. An Asian studies and music double major, Loretz plans to use music as a tool to help his students advance their English language comprehension and speaking skills.
- Students in the HWS Master of Arts in Teaching program relax after presenting their findings at the Boys and Girls Club of Geneva. Led by Professor of Education Jim MaKinster, the students conducted research for the non-profit agency and presented it to members of the Geneva community, including the Geneva City School District.

- In the Seneca Room, Senator Pam Helming (R-Canandaigua) speaks to HWS students and staff as well as members of the Geneva community highlighting funding in the New York State 2017-18 budget designated for water infrastructure and water protection, including in the Finger Lakes. The budget allocates $2.5 billion to help ensure access to clean, safe drinking water, while addressing water quality issues and infrastructure needs statewide.

- At halftime of the Hobart College lacrosse game on Saturday, the Statesmen Athletic Association honored the 1986, 1987, 1988 and 1989 Hobart lacrosse teams as Hobart Teams of Distinction. Each of the teams won the Division III National Championship, extending the program's string of titles to 10 straight.
