- Gulick Hall, originally constructed in 1951 and completely renovated in 1991, has served as the home to the dining hall and the Office of the Registrar. It now houses Human Resources and the Psychology Department.
- Donated to HWS by the Vail family, Houghton House served as a William Smith dorm until hosting the Art Department in the 1980s.
- Members of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity relax on the front porch of 573 South Main St. in 1917. The house is now home to the Chi Phi Fraternity.
- This 1932 photo features the William Smith Hill, home to women’s residence halls at HWS. Hirshson House was later constructed in 1962.
- The first residence hall for William Smith students, Blackwell House was constructed in 1863.
- Members of the 1922 Hobart College Commons Club gather for a photo on the steps of Geneva Hall.
- Constructed in 1965, Bristol Pool is now home to the William Smith swimming and diving team. Students were required to participate in a swimming test until a change was made to the curriculum in 1994.
- A cannon overlooks the Quad in 1926. The site now hosts a Vietnam War memorial and flagpole.
- The Hobart College 1908 lacrosse team.
- Though the trees have grown, not much else has changed in the Sunken Gardens at the Houghton House estate since 1970.
- Geneva Hall, Hobart College’s first building, was constructed in 1822. Originally serving as classrooms, it is now a residence hall.
- Pictured standing in front of Demarest Hall is the 1895 Hobart baseball team.
- The Mini-Quad, made up of Bartlett, Durfee, and Hale, was built along with Gulick Hall in 1951.
- Built in 1890 and originally used as the Sigma Phi house, 601 South Main St. was renovated into the Finger Lakes Institute in 2004.
- In a special edition of This Week in Photos, HWS student photographers Elizabeth Fajardo ’20, Adam Farid ’20 and Dhiraj Mukkamala ’20 present “Then and Now,” a look at Hobart and William Smith campus today and yesterday. Whether the 1960s or the 2010s, the Quad is always a popular place to relax on a sunny day.
- In 1958, two William Smith tennis players shake hands on the newly constructed tennis courts. In 2017, the HWS Tennis Center features the Morrow Championship Court, the Melly Court and the Hebard Court.
- The Hobart football team practices on the Quad in 1906. The team’s current home, Boswell Field was built in 1974.
- The Row Houses on South Main Street in 1876 and today.
- The Hobart baseball team plays on the Quad in 1895.
- The Bradford House, built in 1840, housed two different schools prior to its purchase by the Colleges in 1967. It currently is home of The Thomas Poole Family Admissions Center.
- In 1972, a Fall Nationals cart races down William Smith Hill. The race remains a crowd-pleaser during Homecoming and Family Weekend.
- Before the construction of the Warren Hunting Smith Library and Stern Hall, the William Smith green was home to Boswell Field. Also pictured is the former baseball diamond where the Scandling Campus Center and Cozzens Field now stand.
- The Brackett Clark Reading Room in the Warren Hunting Smith Library was a popular place to study in 1976 and remains so in 2018.
- Members of the William Smith Class of 1982 march up the Hill in 1979 for Moving Up Day.
- The nostalgia of the Coxe Hall steps continues. Here, three students from 1981 enjoy the sunny weather.
- The original Hobart boathouse has since been replaced by the Bozzuto Boathouse constructed in 2003. The railroad line remains in use.
- Students study and browse the stacks of the Colleges’ library located in Demarest Hall in 1950. The Blackwell Room remains a popular place to read and study.
