For her outstanding commitment to the Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce, Assistant Vice President and Dean of Campus Operations Stacey Pierce has received the Chamber Champion award.
The newly created honor recognizes Chamber board and committee members who have shown exceptional dedication to supporting and staying involved in Chamber programs and events. Pierce, who serves on the Chamber’s Board of Directors, received the Chamber Champion award during the organization’s 2018 Annual Dinner Banquet at Club 86 in Geneva last week.
“It has been great working with members of the Board, and having the opportunity to welcome so many new businesses into our area. It’s truly been great,” Pierce said during her acceptance remarks. “I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of Hobart and William Smith Colleges, which have afforded me the opportunity to give of my time in the Geneva and the surrounding communities; and to be a part of a community that has welcomed me.”
A Jan. 26 Finger Lakes Times article details Pierce’s award. In 2015, Pierce, along with Director of the Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning Katie Flowers, were among 11 nominees honored during the Chamber’s Women in Business Honoree Reception.
At HWS, Pierce works closely with athletic compliance, The College Store, Hobart Athletics, William Smith Athletics, Sodexo Campus Services, Sodexo Dining and the Colleges’ radio stations. She is the HWS Posse 3 mentor and serves as the liaison for the HWS Posse Program. Previously, Pierce served as associate dean of students, interim Title IX coordinator, and director of Residential Education.
