Podcast Series Finale Features Bozzuto ’68

The Entrepreneurial Endeavors podcast wraps up its first season.

Matt Nusom ’23 is the host of “Entrepreneurial Endeavors,” an Entrepreneurial Studies Department podcast featuring interviews with alums who have launched a company or venture.

The season finale, shared on Dec. 8, features an interview with Honorary Trustee Thomas Bozzuto ’68, L.H.D. ’18, chairman and co-founder of the Bozzuto Group.

Bozzuto shares insights from his career journey, including steps he took to differentiate his business during his 50-year career in real estate. He also offers advice to Hobart and William Smith graduates ready to make an impact.

“What motivates me… is wanting to make the world a better place during the time that I am here. To do that, you have to be willing to take initiative. You have to be willing to take risks. You have to overcome self-doubt. You have to be willing to push yourself forward into your discomfort zone. And I would argue, you have to do it on a daily basis. Most importantly, you have to do the thing in front of you better than anyone else. If you do that, opportunities will come to you,” Bozzuto said.

Additional episodes of Entrepreneurial Endeavors include interviews with: Sam Solomon ’17, owner of Spotted Duck Creamery and Pizza Posto; Michael Barlow ’11, co-founder and CEO of Fernish; Cory Turner ’08, co-founder of Dogly; Dan De Nose ’10, founder of Leaders of the 21st Century; and Jacob Fox ’16, founder and CEO of Closed Loop Systems.

Nusom, a double major in environmental studies and philosophy, is the 2020 winner of the Todd Feldman ’89 and Family Pitch Contest, an HWS entrepreneurial leadership contest. Nusom’s company SymBio helps reduce waste generated during mealtime through a redesigned lunch tray.

Entrepreneurial Endeavors is produced and edited by Seamus Galvin ’23. Galvin is a mathematics and computer science double major, and is a member of the 2023 Centennial Center Leadership Cohort. He was inducted into Chimera, the junior class honor society.
