Hobart and William Smith Colleges — nationally recognized liberal arts colleges distinctive for excellence in academics, study abroad, career preparation, leadership and service — have commenced a search for their next president.
Dedicated to preparing students to lead lives of consequence and guided by a newly revised curriculum, the Colleges are well positioned as a leading residential campus where the values of global citizenship, community engagement, cultural competence, respect and ethics deeply matter. Located in Geneva, N.Y., an All-America City in the heart of the Finger Lakes, Hobart and William Smith have a robust and longstanding connection with the community that reaches back nearly two centuries.
In seeking a new president who will lead this vibrant intellectual community and who will continue to advance the mission and significant progress of the Colleges, the Board of Trustees has formed a Presidential Search Committee led by Vice Chairs of the Board Cynthia Gelsthorpe Fish '82 and Andrew G. McMaster, Jr. '74, P'09. The committee, composed of trustees, faculty, students and staff, will work closely with executive search firm Isaacson, Miller. Members of the Hobart and William Smith community will have the opportunity to share input, ensuring that a comprehensive and effective search process is informed by multiple perspectives.
The Colleges anticipate welcoming the next president of Hobart and William Smith in 2019.
