Recruiting the Next Generation of Students with HWS Plus One

Graduates, families and friends of the Colleges are invited to recommend prospective students in a new collaboration between the HWS Office of Admissions and the Office of Alumni and Alumnae Relations.

HWS Plus One provides an easy referral process for the HWS community to introduce the Colleges to just one promising high school student.

“No one knows better than we do how special the Colleges are and what a profound impact an HWS education has on students,” says Chevy DeVaney ’95, P’21, P’23, director of Alumni and Alumnae Relations. “With the help of those who know HWS best, we can target admissions efforts toward students likely to thrive here. In this simple but important way, we can amplify the Colleges’ efforts around enrollment and retention, social and academic diversity, and long-term institutional advancement.”

HWS has rigorous admissions standards for applicants and high academic expectations for students. The Colleges are seeking intellectually curious, highly motivated students who are interested in:

  • wide-ranging, interdisciplinary learning in a tight-knit community;
  • experiential education through internships, research and study abroad programs; and
  • opportunities to pursue entrepreneurship, leadership, civic engagement and community development.

Recommend an exceptional student by submitting an HWS Plus One form.
