Student Art and Architecture Work Debuts

Student Art Install- 0069An annual tradition celebrating ingenuity and expression, “Student Art and Architecture: Studio Work from 2016-2017” will open to the public on Friday, April 28 in The Davis Gallery at Houghton House. The show, running through May 14, will feature student works spanning a breadth of visual invention in color and in black and white, in silkscreens and photographs, in charcoal and paint, and in sculpture and digital media.

The HWS Art and Architecture Department will host an opening night reception on April 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. in honor of the featured artists who are enrolled in classes ranging from beginning to advanced levels.

The exhibit is curated by the studio art faculty of the HWS Art and Architecture Department. Exhibit curators are: Professor of Art and Architecture A.E. Ted Aub, Visiting Assistant Professor of Art and Architecture Kirby Benjamin, Professor of Art and Architecture Jeffrey Blankenship, Professor of Art and Architecture Michael Bogin, Visiting Instructor of Art and Architecture Sam Castner, Assistant Professor of Art and Architecture Christine Chin, Assistant Professor of Art and Architecture Gabriella D’Angelo, Visiting Assistant Professor of Art and Architecture Patrick Kana, Assistant Professor of Art and Architecture Alysia Kaplan, Professor of Art and Architecture Nicholas Ruth and Professor of Art and Architecture Phillia Yi.
