In the next step in her commitment to education, Susan Tyree Dempf ’84 will become the new head of school for Academy of the Sacred Heart in St. Charles, Missouri, this summer.
“The Academy of the Sacred Heart has been educating the hearts and minds of children for nearly two centuries and I am overjoyed to have been presented with the opportunity to lead this amazing community,” she announced. “I am looking forward to working together with parents, faculty and staff, as well as the board, to advance the mission of Sacred Heart education.”
During her time at HWS, Dempf majored in economics and was a member of the soccer and basketball teams. After graduation, she earned a master’s in administration from Springfield College and a doctoral degree in teaching and curriculum from Syracuse University.
Currently, she serves as the high school director at Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart in Miami. Her career has included positions as an associate professor and assistant dean in post-secondary education, in addition to serving as national program director for the Network of Sacred Heart Schools.
